Once a yearThe Grouse Games.
Our annual in-house games. Teams get built by hand, then a month of build-up leads to a final day that’s as much game as workout, with prizes from local businesses.

A date changes the training.
Most of our members train to stay in shape and stay healthy. Good reasons. They don’t need a finish line. But training feels different when there’s a date coming. You push a bit harder.
The Games gives everyone the same date, and a month of training that builds to it. If you haven’t picked your out there yet, start with the nearest one.
The Grouse Games · final dayWhat we see every year.
We run the Games for what happens in the month before it. Every year it’s the same:
Attendance jumps. Sessions book out for the month.
There’s more talk. Team chats run hot, and people who’d never trained together start talking between sets.
Members get a target. People who normally train to stay in shape are suddenly training for something.
Game-day jitters. You don’t feel those much as an adult. Our members do, once a year.
You’ve got more time than you think.
Training is usually the first thing to drop out of a busy week. In a team it sticks. Someone’s expecting you, so you show up. It’s a lot easier to commit when other people are in it with you.
Adults don’t get many chances to play.
The Games is one. You’ll work as hard as any session all year, and you’ll be laughing while you do it.
How it looks.

Circle the date.
We announce the Games to members each May. Everyone’s welcome. Teams get sorted from whoever’s in.
